Our team has many years of experience, including our managing director and auctioneer, Mr Gift Ngwenya who has been in the vehicle space for the 15 years, he was a founding member and instrumental in the setting up of what is now Auction Nation and Wee Lee SA the largest salvage auction house in South Africa. Our Director Lance Chalwin-Milton, founded High Street Auctions in 2010.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I bid?
The auctioneer will lead the auction, he will ask for a number. If you are attending in person all you have to do is put up your hand up to bid on the asked number, if you are bidding online you can type in the bid on the app. The auctioneer can then accept you bid.
Where can I bid from?
Our auctions and both online and live. The auction is live streamed on YouTube and the bids get updated live on our app. There are 3 ways you can bid; by attending the auction at our venue, bidding online via our app, or telephonically.
How much is the registration fee?
The registration fee R7000.00
Is my registration fee refunded?
The R7000.00 registration fee is deducted from the price of the vehicle if you were the winning bid. If, you weren't lucky enough to win the bid then the registration fee is refunded.
Do I have to register to attend an auction?
No, you don’t have to register to attend an auction, however, if you would like to bid on an auction you need to register.
What documents do I need to submit bid on the auction?
To participate, you need to register for the auction via our platform, here: https://highstreetauctions.bidwrangler.com/ui
Once you have registered on our platform, to complete your registration and be eligible to bid, please:
- Complete and sign the Bidder Registration Form (needs to be one for every auction if you attend multiple auctions)
- Submit the required FICA documentation listed below
- Pay the R7,000 registration fee (refundable for unsuccessful bidders)
Required FICA Documents
To comply with South African regulations, all bidders must submit the appropriate documentation.
Proof of address must not be older than 3 months.
All bank confirmation letters must be for the same account from which payment is made.
Private Individuals
- South African Citizens:
- Identification Document (green bar-coded ID Book or Smart Card ID)
- Proof of Residential Address **
- Bank Account Confirmation Letter
- Non-South African Citizens:
- Passport and South African Traffic Register
- Proof of Residential Address **
- Bank Account Confirmation Letter
Companies and Close Corporations
(Please note: self-printed copies from Windeed, Deed Search, etc, may not be used)
- Company Documents from CIPC.
- Proof of Business Address (Not older than 3 months).
- If VAT registered, SARS letter with VAT number / Registration Certificate.
- Resolution letter signed by all directors confirming the registered representative/s can purchase on behalf of the company.
- Identification Document (green bar-coded ID Book or Smart Card ID or Passport) for the person authorized to bid.
- Proof of Residential Address of the person authorized to bid. **
- BRN Certificate / Dealer-stocking Certificate / Traffic Register Certificate (from the Motor Vehicle Licensing office)
- Bank Account Confirmation Letter (from the same account funds are paid from)
Trusts
- Trust Deed
- Letter of authority issued by the master of the high court
- Proof of Business Address for the Trust**
- Identification Document (green bar-coded ID Book or Smart Card ID or Passport) for RSA citizens of all Trustees.
- Authorization letter to purchase on behalf of the trust, signed by all trustees
- Proof of Residential Address of person authorized to bid **
- Tax clearance certificate (If VAT Registered)
- Bank Account Confirmation Letter (from the same account funds are paid from)
Is VAT payable on auction units?
Yes, VAT is applicable of both the vehicle and commission.
Is there commission on auction units?
Yes, a 5.5% buyers commission is applicable as well as a R2,750.00 admin fee per lot purchased plus VAT.
Can I finance an auction vehicle?
Yes, we partner with Auction Finance, you can apply for finance through them.
